UPDATED: Tour de France Route Announced

A return to Morzine-Avoriaz for the Tour de France ’14 wasn’t predicted on many of the cycling forums. Yesterday the Morzine Office de Tourisme confirmed ahead of the official race announcement that Morzine-Avoriaz wouldn’t be on the tour schedule next summer and therefore there were no big suprises when the route was announced at a press conference this morning.

We already knew that the Grand Depart will take in the beautiful sights of Yorkshire next year, passing the cities of York, Leeds, Ripon and Sheffield as well as the Yorkshire Dales. On 7th July Le Tour will roll from Cambridge into London for Stage 3, finishing on The Mall, right in front of Buckingham Palace.

And then where? Here’s the route so far, we’ll update the table after tomorrow’s press conference.
