Avoriaz Resort Guide

As the highest mountain resort in the Portes du Soleil, Avoriaz knocked spots off every other ski resort in France last winter. It had more snow across the entire season than any other skiable spot in France, with an average season-wide snowfall of over eight metres!

Avoriaz was also holds the prestigious title of ‘Best Family Ski Resort’, awarded at the World Snow Awards in London and we’re not biased when we say, it’s well deserved. Skiing families want for nothing in Avoriaz, and because it’s purpose built and car free, you can ski in and out of every hotel, chalet and apartment block in the resort.

We can’t imagine that many skiers or snowboarders find themselves in Avoriaz and decide not to explore further afield in the enormous Portes du Soleil ski area. Avoriaz is perfectly placed to access the nearby Swiss resorts of Les Crosets, Champery and Champoussin, while closer to home, Chatel offers some amazing terrain and the links between resorts are kept in reasonable condition right until the end of the winter season.
