Mountain E-Park is a company based in Les Gets that specialises in making kids’ dreams come true. Seriously. When I was a kid, all I wanted to do was ride a motorbike, go skiing and be a stunt-woman, and I was particularly horrified when my parents broke the news that I was too young to ride a motorbike.
If only I’d known about Mountain E-Park. This innovative new venture saw massive success last winter and summer offering electric snowmobile sessions and electric dirt bike lessons for kids in Les Gets and Avoriaz, now they’re back for another winter! After all, why should adults have all the fun? Don’t worry, it’s not as dangerous as it sounds; all motorised electric vehicle rides take place on a supervised, closed-off course to ensure kids are safe and having fun at all times.
Not only is Mountain E-Park creating great experiences for kids, the idea of using electric vehicles is well in keeping with Les Gets’ green tourism initiatives; no fuel is being used, so no harmful chemicals are being transferred to the snow, water or air. This is a perfect fit for Les Gets, a resort that’s embracing the electric vehicle movement by offering tourists free electric bikes to explore the town, as well as multiple charging stations for electric cars. All bikes are made by Swiss company, Quantya, world-leading electric bike specialist; it creates top-class electric road and off-road motorbikes, and according to its website, is at the forefront of electric motor technology.
So if you’re visiting Les Gets this winter you can find Mountain E-Park just by Lac d’Ecoles in Les Gets (easily accessible by bus, car, skis and on foot) putting on fun, eco-friendly adventures for little ones. It costs €20 for a 15-minute session and will put a smile on you little ones’ faces for the rest of the day!
