New lifts and then some…
New Lifts
The ancient but iconic base station of the Telecabine du Pleney was quickly demolished at the end of last winter. Around the same time a freak fire demolished the arrival station at the top of the Pleney. There’ll be 54 ten-seater bubbles on the new lift, carrying 3000 skiers and snowboarders an hour.
Babysnow
Heading for Morzine’s nursery slopes this winter, Babysnow devices are available to hire from the ESF office. Babysnow is a cross between a snow scooter and a sledge. Children aged between one and three years stand on the board, straddle the saddle and hold on to a front handle while parents control speed and direction from behind.
Chemin des Zouzous
A new 2km long ski run through the forest has been created on the Pleney. It’s decorated with life-sized replicas of wild animals such as fox, deer, wolf and other animals of the forest. The run is open to everyone and includes gentle bumps and berms to make it even more fun for little ones.
Chef’s Table
Chef-Patron Thierry Thorens of Restaurant La Chamade has been producing creative and artistic dishes for many years. After a recent extensive refurbishment, the restaurant now offers a Chef’s Table in the large open kitchen. Restaurant chefs showcase their talents to diners, who sit at a U shaped table around the stove.
