Les Gets is always changing. If you’ve spent any time in the beautiful little village you’ll know it’s very family friendly. These are our favorite new things in Les Gets this winter…
Videopark – Make like a pro!
Produce your own ski or snowboard video for free on the Perrieres run. Swipe your lift pass at the top, descend the new parallel slalom run and the filming starts automatically with integrated time keeping. At the bottom you’ll see your run on a screen and from there you can share it on Facebook. How cool is that? Find out more.
Chocolate Tasting – Chalet du Chocolat
If you’re thinking ‘I know what chocolate tastes like, I eat enough of it’, pay a visit to Isabelle in her workshop in the centre of the resort. Her themed workshops include ‘the art of chocolate tasting’ where you’ll use all your senses to identify sweetness and bitterness in a range of chocolates. Priced at €20 per session for adults, book in advance on +33 (0) 4 50 37 67 43
The Grand Cry – Themed ski run for kids
Ok, so it’s not new but it’s still fantastic family fun. The American-Indian themed ski run is designed for children aged 5 – 12 years and includes teepees, Indian face painting, totem poles and a cowboy’s log cabin. There’s an organised treasure hunt each week too. You’ll see the Grand Cry area while you’re on the Chavannes chair lift.
Snowline – Improved access to the piste
The snowline or ‘front de neige’ was under huge development last winter and you can really see the difference €1.2 million makes. There’s now a new lift pass office at the Chavannes, a great new sledging area for kids aged 2 – 6 years and a covered escalator that delivers you right to the bottom of the piste.
