Since 2009, Avoriaz has been kicking off the winter with the Rock On Snowboard Tour. One of four events taking place in different resorts around France, the Rock On tour is a great opportunity to test out all this winter’s best snowboards, boots, bindings, accessories – and now skis as well – in a fun, laid-back setting. Unlike most ski and board tests, it’s open to anyone and everyone and has a massive collection of gear. This winter has already seen its fair share of snow, making now a great time to test out some new planks!
If you’re on the hunt for a new set-up this winter, Rock On is a great way of discovering what’s out there. Plus there’s always (snow permitting) a small park set up so you really can test out your chosen skis and boards on all terrain. This year’s tour will include around 50 brands encompassing snowboards, skis and accessories. Ski brands include 4FRNT, Armada, Scott and Black Crows, while snowboard brands include Amplid, Yes, Bataleon and Jones, plus many many more. There will also be kids’ boards available at the testing station, competitions, and prize giveaways. We’ve heard a special Christmas beer might even be on the cards!

While the days will be jam packed with ski- and snowboard-related stuff to test, the nights will be host to plenty of DJs and lots of partying, in true Avoriaz style! This year will also see a special screening of the new Faction ski movie, This is Home.
If you want to test out some skis and boards, make sure you SIGN UP for a tester card. It’s free to sign up, but you must have one if you want to participate. Definitely worth doing, this is always a great event with an exciting atmosphere that gets everyone stoked for the winter. Happy testing!
