Snowbombing Presents Transition – A New Music Festival for Avoriaz

Unless you’ve had your head stuck in the snow for several years, everyone has heard of Snowbombing. The annual musical on snow event held in Mayrhofen each year has welcomed the likes of The Prodigy, Rudimental, Fatboy Slim and Gorgon City, packing out the Austrian resort.

Here at Source Magazine we’re very excited to announce that Snowbombing plan to make party in Avoriaz this winter. Transition Snow takes over Avoriaz between 13 and 19th December 2015 and we’ve got all the information you need to get yourselves into a very excited frenzy on the hottest of summer days.

Transition is the very first sister event of Snowbombing; 3000 people will join the music-ski festival in Avoriaz this year. There’ll be a first class dance lineup across a medley of unique and interesting venues in Avoriaz, lasting 6 days and 6 nights. Some of Snowbombings best known festival features will also be on the line-up, including the Ride & Seek pro snowboarder competition, a new twist on the Snowbombing Road Trip with coaches instead of cars, pool parties with amazing DJs inside Aquariaz, woodland raves in our very own Stash, mountain terrace bashes and pop-up parties in unusual locations.

The Wristbands

There’ll be a range of different festival ticket options to suit everyone. Full packages consist of return travel from the UK, 6 nights accommodation, a 6 day lift pass and festival wristband. Worry not Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz locals, there’ll also be a ‘wristband only’ option so that no one misses out! Subject to availability, festival only wristbands will be available in resort too.

The Lineup

The organisers tell us the full Transition lineup is already confirmed, with the festival pitched at the young 20’s and student market. Big names will headline each night and as a clue… many of the confirmed acts are touring UK festivals this summer.

The organisers told us “Avoriaz has proven itself as the snowiest resort in the Alps, coupled with the fact it’s entirely pedestrianised and set on a plateau in the heart of the Portes du Soleil – it make’s for an incredible and unique setting to pull of a show that reflects just that.

We will turn the resort into a carnival extravaganza; using the world-famous Stash as a setting for a Forest Disco and converting the Church into an all night musical arena are just a couple of examples of how we will showcase the amazing potential of this stunning resort.”

An absolute tonne of information is still to be released for this new event, and we’ll keep you posted right here on the Source website. In the meantime, you can sign-up for early-bird tickets on the Transition website.
