UPDATED 14TH DECEMBER: London new rave band the Klaxons have been added to this winter’s Rock The Pistes line-up, headlining the Avoriaz stage on Wednesday 26th March.
UPDATED 14th November: It’s just been announced that UK rock band Babyshambles, armed with their latest album ‘Sequel to the Prequel’ will headline this winter’s Rock The Pistes Festival across the Portes du Soleil. Lead singer Pete Doherty just told us..
“I’ve realised there’s a hunger there for me – not for not having enough to eat, let’s make that clear – but to be in this band. It’s intrinsically a part of me, I think. And it’s taken this album to really remind myself of that.”
Babyshambles will perform on Friday 28th March, venue TBC!
The forth annual Rock The Pistes music festival takes place around the Portes du Soleil between 26th and 30th March and the musical line up for the event has just been announced. In previous years acts were mainly French and international in flavour, but this year sees a number of up and coming UK bands and acts heading for a piste side pop-up stage near you.
Here’s the line-up so far, with two more UK headline acts still to be announced…
Ben L’Oncle Soul – new soul / jazz, winner of ‘best male act’ at a recent music awards, with three platinum selling albums under his belt
Mad Professor & The Robotiks – from the creative founder of reggae label Ariwa Records
Lee Scratch Perry – the ‘father of reggae’, he’s worked with Bob Marley and The Wailers and won a Grammy for ‘best reggae album’
Horace Andy – The voice of Massive Attack
Mass Hysteria – Metal, rock and rap roots for over 20 years on the French and international music scene
The Skints – London based, they blend punk, reggae and dub
