Rock The Pistes 2016 – Line Up Announced

Within the last hour the powers that be at the Portes du Soleil have finally announced the line up for 2016’s immense Rock the Pistes festival. Rock the Pistes is an annual festival on snow, taking place across the ski area between 13th and 19th March 2016. All concerts are free, you just need your lift pass to ski to them.

Although the selection of acts varies considerably each year (who can forget the massive snowball fight during the Klaxons gig in Avoriaz or Lee Scratch Perry in the sunshine…), there’s a fairly strong line-up for this year’s festival.

Two Door Cinema Club – Avoriaz- 14th March – 1.30pm

We’re massive fans of the band’s 2010 album Tourist History so we’re making this concert our pick of the entire festival.

Two Door Cinema Club are an Irish indie band, formed in 2007. The first album Tourist History was massive globally, while their second album Beacon in 2012 reached number two in the UK album charts. The band’s biggest gig to date was at T in the Park in 2013, let’s see if the crowds of Avoriaz can rival that!

We’ll be honest, we don’t know much (or anything…) about the other Rock the Pistes acts announced today, but we’ll do some research and keep this page updated.

Gotthard – 13 March 2016 – Champery, Switzerland, 1.30pm

Thiefaine – 18th March 2016 – Chatel, 1.30pm

Deluxe – 19th March 2016 – Morgins, Switzerland
