As music festivals go, previous versions of the Portes du Soleil’s annual piste-side musical extravaganza haven’t exactly set the world of live music alight. How different things are set to be this year…
All Rock The Pistes concerts and events are FREE to attend, although there is an option to buy tickets on the official festival website for €47.50 a pop, which includes a lift pass for the day and festival entry. Obviously you’ll need your lift pass to access the events that are on the piste, unless you fancy a hike.
Here’s the line up for the 2014 Rock The Pistes Festival
Wednesday 26th March
The Klaxons in Avoriaz (resort centre) from 1.30pm
Thursday 27th March
Breton (on the piste) and Mass Hysteria (resort centre) in Morgins from 1.30pm
Friday 28th March
Babyshambles in Chatel (resort centre) from 1.30pm
Saturday 29th March
Mad Professor feat. Lee Scratch Perry and Horace Andy in Champery / Les Crosets (resort centre) from 1.30pm
Sunday 30th March
Ben L’Oncle Soul (on the piste) and The Skints in Morzine / Les Gets (top of the Pleney) from 1.30pm
Les Gets plays host resort to the festival this year and a huge after hours party has been planned for each night from 9.30pm until 11pm, including DJs from The Prodigy. Weirdly, the actual venue for these parties hasn’t been officially announced (we have asked) but the capacity is 900 and it’s somewhere in the centre of Les Gets. Here’s the flyer anyway… we’ll keep you posted.
