Extreme Rescuers is all new this winter.
For Thrill Seekers: Extreme Rescuers, 15th – 19th January
Extreme Rescuers is a brand-new event centred around mountain rescue – and it’s free to join in! While its also a conference for mountain rescue professionals from around Europe, the main aim of the event is to educate the public about the ways of saving people at altitude. On the agenda will be helicopter demos, workshops and new rescue tech showcases. If gizmos, gadgets and off-piste skiing are your thing, don’t miss this.

For Eco-Warriors: The Stash’s 10th Birthday, 22 – 27th January
Avoriaz was the first European ski resort to get a Stash – a unique all-wood snow park by Burton hidden in the forests of Lindarets. The aim of the Stash is not only to create an eco friendly environment for freestyle snows ports but also to make people feel more comfortable in a park environment. This January sees ten years since the Avoriaz Stash was built, which means it’s time for a celebration! Come to Avoriaz for a week of competitions and demos for ids and grown-ups – and of course, there will be plenty of parties!

For Families: Snow Carnival, 10th Feb – 9th March
Half term is family time so Avoriaz is pulling out all the stops over the French and English half-term weeks and transforming itself into a winter wonderland (even more so than it already is!). You can expect shows and activities going on everyday over this four-week period, featuring everything from fireworks, light shows, music, workshops and more. Your kids will never be bored, that’s for sure!
Fatboy Slim will be playing at this year’s Snowboxx festival!
For a party: Snowboxx Festival, 17th – 24th March
Live music, parties, skiing, snowboarding and fun in the sun; Snowboxx festival ticks all the boxes! This March, spend your days shredding with your friends and your nights dancing to some of the world’s best DJs and bands. This year, Fatboy Slim will be gracing the stage, as well as Chase and Status and the Artful Dodger, plus there will be plenty of more festival-themed goodness going on.
Pipeground is always amazing to watch. And it’s easy to get front row seats!
For Shredders: Pipeground, 8th – 14th April
April sees Avoriaz take its halfpipe and turn it into freestyle playground. Two halfpipes filled with gaps, jumps and rails make for an epic end to the season with some of the world’s best skiers and snowboarders. The pros will be throwing down all week and Avoriaz will also be running Pipeground freestyle camps, plus after the event the pipe will be open to the public. But even if you’re not riding the pipe, it’s definitely worth swinging by to watch the pros in action.
