The new route means you board at St Pancras, London at 6.57am and arrive in Geneva at 2.15pm. Now that is quick! And there’s just one simple platform change in Lille. Although most of the hype has surrounded the advantages this has for Swiss ski resorts, the benefits are surely huge for Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz?
The previous snow train from London to Geneva involved a rather nasty train station change in Paris, hauling skis and other kit between Gare de Nord and Gare de Lyon. The new route makes travel much simpler indeed.
The first train is scheduled for 22nd December and will run every Saturday during the ski season until 13th April. Prices for this first weekend are currently on sale for £339 per person, return. HOWEVER! Prices are available from £114 per person return if you’re flexible with your holiday dates and you can travel mid-week.
