It’s probably been to blame for many a missed last lift by folk descending from Avoriaz into Morzine. The relatively slow and frequently stopping Seraussaix chairlift, which connects the bottom of the Proclou beginners area and the top of the Super Morzine, is to be replaced with some fancy new technology. The original 4 man is to become a 6 man and the chairs themselves will be detachable, making them flexible and available for use elsewhere in the Portes du Soleil’s rapidly improving lift network. Avoriaz’s lift operator SERMA is also currently replacing the Proclou chairlift between the bottom of the beginners area and the top of Prolays, and the Brochaux lift also on the Super Morzine is due to be replaced in 2015.
This year the Portes du Soleil turns 50 and we’ll be helping our favourite ski area celebrate all that’s amazing across the network of resorts. In the meantime, here’s a load of images of the works and maps demonstrating the improved links for your viewing and sharing pleasure…
