Morzine’s Christmas Fair

Because it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas, plans for this year’s Christmas Fair in Morzine are already underway.

In previous years we’ve all enjoyed the lovely, festive surroundings of The Farmhouse Hotel for this event and last year, the team from Mountain Mavericks hosted us at Hotel Le Cottage, supporting the event with a great venue and entertainment. Now that Le Cottage is no more, we need a new venue for the Morzine Christmas Fair.

This winter, the Christmas Fair as we know it will join forces with Morzine’s association of local shopkeepers to create one unique and beautifully festive Winter Start Festival. Merging these two separate events (often held on the same day!) gives both the British and French business communities the chance to work together.

The Morzine Winter Start Festival will take place on 8th and 9th December 2018 and we’d love to see a wide and varied collection of exhibitors get involved. As Michel, President of the local shopkeepers association explains…

Last year Morzine held two separate Christmas markets on the same date. This year, the Association of shopkeepers who organise the main Winter Start event, have contacted the British community to try to integrate the two markets. We would like to see one unified market and event to bring more people to Morzine. The market this year will be on the Tourist Office square with an ice sculpture contest, and more entertainment, TBC shortly. We hope you will help us make the Winter Start a success!”

It costs as little at €10 per day to exhibit at the event. Alternatively, you can reserve a charming wooden hut for just €35 for the whole weekend. Obviously we’ve already placed an order for a huge dump of snow just before the event, to make everything nicely festive.

If you’d like to exhibit at Morzine’s Winter Start Festival this year, email Stéphanie at the Office de Tourisme as possible (spaces are limited) and she’ll send you the necessary sign-up documents and further information.
