UPDATE… 30th June 2014
There’s been a huge response to our plan to take Morzine to the London Ski Show. We’ve therefore arranged a meeting for everyone that’s interested in the project to come along and find out more.
Join us at Hotel Le Cottage, Morzine on Tuesday 8th July from 4pm. We’ll present our floorspace plan and ideas for the creation of the Morzine Village, and you can tell us how you’d like to get involved.
Download the London Ski Show floor plan and see exactly where we’ll be located.
Anyone who’s visited the Telegraph London Ski Show will know that Morzine is usually underrepresented when compared to other resorts such as Val d’Isere and the Three Valleys resorts. And anyone who’s ever considered exhibiting will know how prohibitive the cost can be – this year a 3sqm exhibition stand is almost £3000 list price, which we agree is too much for many small, resort based businesses. At last year’s show five Morzine businesses did an excellent job of representing the resort, but we think there’s scope to greatly increase the resort’s presence at the show.
In association with the Morzine Office de Tourisme, Retro Rentals and Source Magazine have the opportunity to create an interactive Morzine Village at this year’s show, which takes place at Earls Court 2 in London between 30th October and 2nd November. We really feel that the Morzine Village at the London Ski Show will be an excellent place to showcase our individual businesses and the cost of exhibiting is vastly reduced when we book space as a resort, so we’ve secured around 90sqm of exhibition space. Our plan is to take businesses from Morzine to the show with a ‘resort first’ approach. Exhibiting businesses will need to include something interactive and fun on their stand, in return you’ll benefit from paying a reduced price to exhibit at the show.
Some stats from the organisers…
– Last year there were 209 exhibitors
– 33,479 people visited the event
– This year there’ll be more events and attractions
– £6.7 million was spent at the show
– The top reason for attending the show amongst visitors was to research and book a ski holiday
If you’re interested in joining us at the London Ski Show, please get in touch so we can share further details on the price and the Morzine Village concept with you. Our plan is to divide the cost of the reduced price exhibition space that we’ve secured between every business that would like to take part, so the more businesses that join in, the more cost effective it becomes for everyone.
The concept of creating a ‘resort village’ style of exhibition hasn’t been done before at the London Ski Show. Morzine will be the first resort to take advantage of this and this will result in media attention, more visitors to the Morzine Village and hopefully a busier ski resort for everyone next winter.
We have a plan in place to communicate our plans to the French business community too, so if you’d like to receive these details in French, please let us know.
