Wondering where you’re going to watch all the action from Sochi from Morzine and Les Gets? With so many local athletes in the French Olympic squad and Team GB looking stronger than ever, let’s all get involved.
If you’re thinking of watching the action from the comfort of your own sofa, check out the BBC’s Sochi 14 coverage schedule. French coverage will be on channels France 2 and France 3.
MORZINE
Bar La Barque (Le Tabac) in Montriond will be open from 7am every day, showing live coverage from all the really early snowboard events, which commence at 7am Morzine time. The first snowboard qualifier is on Thursday 6th at 7am, with the mens and ladies slopestyle qualifiers.
Happy Hours Bar in Ardent will be broadcasting all afternoon / early evening competitions.
Le Crepu in the centre of Morzine will be showing the Olympics ‘all day long’ with live action on both French channels, on Eurosport and live internet streams if necessary.
Le Tibetan Cafe in central Morzine will show everything that’s live after 4pm Morzine time, and the BBC’s 8pm round-up show each evening.
LES GETS
Indigo Bar at the Hotel Chamois d’Or will be showing all live action from 4pm each afternoon and the BBC’s round-up show at 8pm (Les Gets time) each evening. If Team GM or local athletes make it through to the final rounds, then the bar will open for live coverage at other times too.
Bar Bush in the centre of Les Gets will be open as usual from 4pm and will show selected highlights and potentially live coverage if drinkers are interested!
L’Apreski Les Gets are the very proud sponsors of French downhiller Adeline Baud from Les Gets. They’ll be covering all Olympic events in the bar, specifically Adeline’s giant slalom race on Tuesday 18th Feb. There’s sure to be a great atmosphere with loads of local support.
Chalet Le Boomerang / Mammas Les Gets will show all live coverage in the bar.
Big Foot’s Bar at the bottom of the Mont Chery bubble will be opening at 8am each day to show live coverage of all Olympic events. And in honour of Tony’s daughter Ellie Soutter being the current junior British snowboarder cross champion, they’ll be showing live action from the mens and women’s SBX competitions on Sunday 16th and Monday 17th February.
