The Morzine Harley Days Festival has arrived. As you poke your head out of your window to take in the fresh Morzine air this morning, it’ll be obvious that change is in the air. You’ll likely hear the roar of a bike engine or smell the burning rubber. Between 8000 and 10,000 Harley Davidsons are expected to arrive in Morzine for this weekend’s Harley Days festival, so whether bikes or your thing or not, there’s no avoiding them.
Here’s all the information you need for this weekend’s leather-clad shinanegans.
Morzine hosts the Harley Days festival this weekend for the 5th time. Harley Days is the official festival of HOG – the French Harley owners group.
Along the Route de la Plagne and the Rue du Bourg you’ll find stalls selling every form of leather product you could ever imagine. Custom bikes will be on display throughout the town and many local restaurants and bars have arranged live music and drinks offers.
There’s a huge stage in the very centre of Morzine, just outside the Office de Tourisme (you really can’t miss it), which will be used for the follow music concerts:
Saturday
9pm – Sofai
10pm – Official opening ceremony
10.30pm – Rival Sons
Sunday
9pm – Joan Arc
10.30pm – Beth Hart
Monday
8pm – Closing ceremony
9.30pm – TOTO
11.30pm – DJ set plus fireworks until 2am
On Sunday, between 4pm and 5.30pm there’ll be a bike parade between Avoriaz and Morzine, so it’s probably best to stay off the roads between these times.
A free bus service will run from the Mairie bus stop every evening until 1am between Saturday and Monday to connect Morzine with Avoriaz. The Prodains gondola will also run until 1.30am. Other regular bus services will run as normal all weekend.
The petit train service is cancelled for the weekend
There’ll be road closures left right and centre, so if you need to drive into the centre of Morzine, think twice! Or at least check out the plan below…
