Cavern 24-7 Film Festival

For the last eight years the Cavern 24-7 amateur film festival has been one of the highlights of our winter season. It’s a chance for groups of mates to get together, grab a video camera and head for the hills wearing those coveted ‘Cavern 24-7’ bibs. For those of you not familiar with the competition, teams have 7 full days to produce a movie, the competition bib must appear throughout, and at the end of a week’s filming everyone gets together to watch the results, beer is drunk, money is raised for important local charities, a winner is declared and good fun is had by all.

The best thing about the Cavern 24-7 is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. As this video from last year demonstrates nicely…

Filming for this year’s festival begins on Thursday 5th March and there’s a limited number of team spots available this year. So if you’d like more information on getting involved, you’d better get in touch with the organisers ASAP through the Cavern 24-7 Facebook page.

Another change this year is the introduction of big name media partner Epic TV, who’ve stumped up a large cash payment and Epic TV shop vouchers. All entry videos will be hosted on an Epic TV channel dedicated to the Cavern 24-7, and it’s here that you’ll be able to view all the entries after the screening night.

The screening night takes place at the Palais du Sport on Thursday 12th March, tickets are €10 per person and all money raised on the night will be donated to charity. Buy your tickets in advance from Dotty’s on the Rue du Bourg as they’re sure to sell out quickly.
