Lift Pass Update – New Year Week

A statement has just been released by the Morzine Office de Tourisme which anticipates a return to normal lift pass arrangements for the coming holiday week. Heavy snow is forecast over the next 48 hours followed by a period of cold temperatures. The powers that be therefore envisage a return to regular lift pass sales very soon, which is obviously excellent news for New Year holiday makers across Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz.

At the moment, the following lift pass options are available:

Portes du Soleil Pass

Available from today as a day pass only at the usual rate, this pass gives access to Avoriaz, the links to Chatel and the three lifts currently open in the Chatel sector.

A meeting will take place this afternoon (Friday) between the various lift operating companies to determine the projected opening of the rest of the Portes du Soleil after the snowfall, the target being a 50% opening across the whole area.

Avoriaz Pass

Saturday packages are available for €28.50 per person or €52.50 for the whole weekend. Pass purchases are restricted to 2 days currently.

Morzine / Les Gets Pass

A decision will be made tomorrow lunchtime on the possibility of selling Morzine – Les Gets passes and the proposed tariffs.

All pass purchase options are available at the lift pass offices from 3.30pm each day for the following day.

We will of course keep you posted on all lift and snow developments over the next 24 hours!
