Le Strike Roc: An all-new bowling and gaming space in Avoriaz

We were mega excited when we found out last year that our pals at Avoriaz Holidays had taken over the bowling alley in Avoriaz and were planning to convert it into not one, but two bars, collectively named le Roc. Last winter the team opened le Lounge Roc, an luxury cocktail and tapas bar in the section of the bowling alley that was previously unused, while this winter will see the opening of le Strike Roc, an all-new stylish gaming space, the likes of which have never been seen in Avoriaz.

Previously known as Le Bowling, the bowling alley remained open last winter featuring its former décor, but both bars have been closed throughout the summer so that work could start to transform it into le Strike Roc. It’s great to see such a big renovation project come to fruition, and we’re mega happy to be able to bring you a sneak preview of what le Strike Roc is expected to look like, and a quick run-down of all the other fun stuff you’ll be able to do there.

First up, the space will be sporting some stylish new décor (pictured above) – while we all enjoyed the kitsch-ness of le Bowling, we’re delighted to have somewhere a little easier on the eyes to get our bowl on. Secondly there will be a bar serving a selection of classic cocktails (if you’ve had any of the cocktails at le Lounge Rock you’ll be as excited as we are), as well as finger food and tasty snacks. There will also be five draft beers, plus a great selection of wines and soft drinks to choose from so you’ll never go thirsty.

Now on to the fun stuff. The bar will sport four bowling lanes, two of which will have animations projected directly on to the lanes themselves, adding an extra level of awesome when you get a strike (or making you feel better when you don’t hit any pins at all). There will also be a massive selection of arcade games including pool tables, pinball, air hockey, table football, and interactive digital darts machines to name but a few.

Le Strike Roc will also have some very interesting-looking VR games. We’re yet to experience the virtual reality phenomenon but we’re really looking forward to trying this out! The bar will house two VR Super Egg games that you sit in and they look great.

And sports fans, listen up. Le Strike Roc will be showing all the major football matches an other important sporting events throughout the winter. The bar will house five TV screens and one big screen, with the additional bonus of being able to show two channels in the bar at the same time, so you’ll never miss a game.

Work is going well and progressing on schedule!

And you’ll be glad to hear gaming at the Strike Roc won’t break the bank – it costs just €5 per person for a VR game and €9.80 per person per game of bowling (€10.80 with lane animation). Le Lounge Roc and Le Strike Roc will open in December, from mid-afternoon until late. And make sure you look out for a range of great events at both bars; last year’s highlights included close-up magic and cabaret shows at le Lounge Roc and weekly karaoke at le Strike Roc.

We can’t wait to see the final product and play a few rounds of bowling, and we hope if you’re visiting Avoriaz this winter you’ll be doing the same! Le Strike Roc is set to be the ideal space for groups of friends and families alike and will be perfect for enjoying your time in Avoriaz off the slopes.

You can follow the progress of le Strike Roc on Facebook and Instagram, while if you’re looking to book this year’s winter holiday in Avoriaz, Avoriaz Holidays has something for every budget and group size.
