Earth Hour is a global event that unites the world by taking one simple action. Earth Hour also raises awareness and helps to highlight climate change. But what are we doing about it in Morzine? When 7000 cities and towns in 152 countries and territories around the world got involved in Earth Hour 2012, they sent a powerful message for action to save the planet. In 2013 Morzine will be involved too.
So what do you have to do? Turn your lights off for one hour at 8.30pm on Saturday 23rd March. That’s it. It’s that simple.
To help Earth Hour gain momentum locally, Mara Phipps would like you to e-mail her your name or your company name if you intend to take part. She’ll collate a list of everyone who is supporting Earth Hour locally and take it to the Office de Tourisme in the hope that they’ll help spread the news to the French community too. Imagine how cool it would be to see Morzine and the surrounding area in absolute darkness for one whole hour!
You can find out more about Earth Hour on the website.
